"Subluxation", what is it?
Subluxations are caused by stresses that are experienced through the nervous system, to the nervous system or the surrounding vertebral osseous structures and must be adapted to. Our nervous system is responsible for relating the external environment to our internal environment. If there are interferences, disruptions or distortions, that doesn't bode well for you adapting to your external environment or for you functioning internally at optimal levels.
The
body depends on the free flow of nerve communication from the brain,
through the spinal column, to every part of the body. When any of these
nerve signals become altered or distorted, the vital communication
system is disrupted. These neurological disruptions are called
"subluxations".
There are five immediate physiological effects of the subluxation complex:
1. Pain
2. Tenderness
3. Muscle Spasm or Tightness
4. Decreases Range of Motion
5. Temperature Changes
If you have one of more of these findings at a specific vertebral level you have "vertebral subluxation".
